In Auckland Brandt started out as an agent for sales, and later was made an IT consultant. Lesley began her modeling career and then began to appear in commercials. She completed her acting major and continued her training in Meisner techniques of learning. Lesley's very first prominent acting job was in the TV drama Diplomatic Immunity in New Zealand.
